Why travel?

I travel 100 days out of the year to visit our offices, major clients and investors. My family also usually does one major trip a year and maybe one or two smaller trips

Why you joined?

My company has a travel agency, but not designed for my level of travel. Our negotiated rates are not at luxury hotels and the company’s agents don’t have a clue about my travel pain points, so my assistants would spend a significant amount of time managing my travel. When I heard about Marchay from a friend it made perfect sense as a solution for me. I now have an extension of my team dedicated to my travel that really understands my lifestyle and is one contact for both my work and leisure travel

Last Marchay experience?

I stayed in London at The Beaumont, which I discovered through them. I stayed in a junior suite and paid about what a standard room would have cost. They also recommended a great place for a fun work dinner, Park Chinois, which was spot on

Why travel?

I travel mainly for work, but often combine these with family vacations

Why you joined

I’m Singapore-based with an intense travel schedule to the US West Coast and Europe.  I spend 150 days traveling and have young children so my wife and kids often join me. This is too complex for my assistant, and Centurion couldn’t keep up. I need suites connecting, baby-sitters, kid’s seats in every car etc. Marchay paired me with an advisor with young children who understands the challenges we face and always alleviates stress from my assistant and my wife

Last Marchay Experience

I am just back from a trip to LA and Palo Alto. We stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Rosewood in Menlo Park. Our nanny joined us, there is always the challenge of connecting room options which keep us close together, but still allows for some privacy for me and my wife. Marchay organized this every time through connecting a one bedroom suite with a room or junior suite. They mix their knowledge of the property for the best room options with their negotiated rates and upgrades to create value for us

Why travel?

I travel equally for work and fun, usually it is a mix of both. I sometimes travel to get away from home and find new inspiration

Why you joined?

I don’t have a large infrastructure and needed some help to execute my travel. I tried both travel agents and concierge companies, and two things always bothered me, 1) the recommendations did not have a lot of thought behind them, and 2) they didn’t have taste. I was introduced to Marchay by a designer friend and she said it was a travel service by and for sophisticated travelers, many of them creative. I love the community model. It makes so much sense. I have my person who gets me and has taste, and I leverage the expertise and experiences of other members

Last Marchay Experience?

They sent me to the No Address when I was in Paris. I loved it. Very hip in a French way, extremely private and luxurious. I had never heard of it but have since learned that many top music people and athletes stay there. Marchay also started in Paris so they have great recommendations and access privileges to David Lynch’s private club, Silencio, which I went to several times with friends

Why travel?

I sit on several boards and travel to attend those, and I do expansive leisure trips with my family

Why you joined?

I was the CEO of a large company, at that time I traveled to LA frequently and our rate at the Four Seasons was $300. I was shocked when I went there for the first time as an independent traveler and they wanted almost $600 for the entry level room. When my friend told me about Marchay I connected with the concept; a like-minded group pooling their travel volume through one platform to get access to similar rates as we had when we were part of the big companies. I also like having one dedicated person who knows me, my family and handles our vacation. She’s part of my team

They arranged a semi buyout of The Cove on Eleuthera over President’s Day weekend for a family get together. Despite the fact it was a peak demand weekend Marchay was able to secure all the beach front facing rooms and negotiate a favorable group rate for us. It is a great resource that I wish had known about earlier

Why travel?

I travel both for my business, and to see friends and attend conferences. I spend probably three months out of a year on the road. I fly commercial often but occasionally fly private if my wife comes and she wants to bring our dog

Why you joined?

Before I joined I traveled to Africa and paid over $80,000 for the safaris, guides and hotels. My assistants later noticed that over a third of that went straight to the luxury travel agent here in the US. I was furious about the lack of transparency, especially since they got commissions on the other end. My friend who was a member told me about Marchay, and their model about being a user-created group with a fiduciary service ethic. I spend a lot of money on travel and do not mind paying for the best, but I want to be smart about it and certainly do not want to be taken advantage of

Last Marchay Experience?

Yachting in the Caribbean. They have their own yacht broker. Everything was expertly handled, and Marchay was really there to help and represent me. It was my first time chartering and I had a great experience. I also stayed at the Park Hyatt Paris with them, and their negotiated rate for was about half of what my assistant could find. That’s just the bonus in my opinion as a member of Marchay. Having someone I trust in my travel means everything at my spend level

Why travel?

I run an energy related investment fund in New York and travel both for work and leisure

Why you joined

We got a corporate membership to do our team’s travel. Our frequent destinations are London, Dubai, and Houston, but we travel broadly. Marchay is a perfect benefit for my executives, and it makes sense from a P&L perspective. It is a pain for people to travel to be away from home. At the same time you want people to travel to meet companies and management teams in person at an early stage, so I feel it is good for my business that our people enjoy their travel as much as possible. Our policies are lenient and they always fly the best cabin available and stay in top hotels. I really appreciate that Marchay strive to create value without sacrificing the experience. It has eased most of the travel related work pressure from the assistant team as we know we can trust them. I also like that it’s a great perk for the partners for their private leisure travel

Last Marchay Experience

My team traveled to Dallas for a conference. They all stayed at the Rosewood for a significant savings. For this trip due to schedule and the fact we were traveling together it made sense to go private. Marchay organized everything and received multiple jet quotes, getting a price that was less than what a flight on my own Netjet card would have cost
